The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) has issued a Guide to Privacy and Security of Health Information (Version 1.1 022312) which specifically could be a useful guidance to medical practitioners participating in the Medicare and Medicaid Program for Adoption and Meaningful Use of Certified Electronic Health Record Technology.
The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) has launched its new Health IT Dashboard.
The dashboard offers interactive maps, graphs, charts, and data on regional extension centers, grants programs, and Community College Consortia to Educate Health IT Professionals. As announced by ONC officials, the upgraded Health IT Dashboard now includes more than 150 maps presenting ONC data at state, county, and grantee geographic boundaries, as is seen as a tool for delivering key data to ONC's stakeholders and the interested public.

Launch of Privacy Webpage: Privacy 360
CalOHII has launched a webpage dedicated to better inform Californians of their rights and responsibilities when it comes to their health information, as well as the role of electronic health information exchanges in transmitting patients' health information. This webpage offers patients and providers information, FAQs, links to informative video clips, news items, and state and federal laws on the privacy and security of health information. CalOHII is aiming for Privacy 360 to be a useful and beneficial site for all Californians who want to learn more about the exchange of health information in the age of electronics.
