January 2012 - CalOHII Security Steering Team drafts HIE Security Guidelines
The CalOHII Security Steering Team (SST) has recently drafted seven Health Information Exchange (HIE) security guidelines. These guidelines represent areas of IT security that CalOHII feels would benefit from more detailed analysis and development. Each guideline is comprised of two parts:
- Roadmap: The roadmap for each guideline was used to direct the SST's efforts in developing the corresponding controls that should be implemented.
- Required Controls: The required controls page outlines minimum and recommended actions that should be taken to secure sensitive electronic data.
These guidelines can be found at CalOHII's wiki page, located at http://www.calohii.wikispaces.com
Security Steering Team Overview:
The purpose of the Security Steering Team (SST) is to provide continuity of knowledge, leadership, oversight and guidance. The Steering Team will oversee development of security policy through collaboration with stakeholders, policy developers and implementers and act as the central authority for all CalOHII security policy and implementation information.
